Club Rugby returns to the Waikato with all clubs and grades kicking off this weekend in a condensed format due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Waikato Draught Premiership A Week 1 Preview

The Waikato Draught Premiership A competition finally gets underway this weekend in a condensed one Round 10 weeks competition with a storm week thrown in to complete the competition in time for the Mitre 10 Cup. At the end of the regular season the top four will play off in the finals, with the final scheduled for August 22nd.

LoneStar Hamilton Division 1A Week 1 Preview 

Like the Premier competition the Division 1 competition will also be a one round competition consisting of 11 weeks. The top 4 will then playoff for a chance to claim the LoneStar Hamilton Cup, which is scheduled for August 29th.

Division 2 will be a 9 weeks one round competition, with the finals scheduled for August 15th. Hamilton Old Boys will be looking to continue their domination of this division by continuing their win streak and defending the Alpha Hotel Cup for yet another season.

Morrinsville Sports will start off the 2020 season as defending champions of the Don Shergold Trophy, as they face nine other club in an eleven week tournament, with the final scheduled for August 29th.

Vodafone Colts Week 1 (Kickoff 1pm)

The Colts competition is also an eleven week competition as Leamington will be looking to defend their Elliott Shield title. The final is scheduled for August 29th.

Gallagher Women’s Premiership Week 1 (Kickoff 1pm)

The Gallagher Women’s Premiership kicks off this weekend with reigning champions Melville beginning their quest for a three-peat. The competition will be held over eight weeks with team going straight into finals, scheduled August 1st. The finals will be 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th, 5th v 6th.
