Samisoni Taukei’aho re-signs with Waikato Rugby until the end of 2027.


Waikato Rugby is pleased to announce the re-signing of powerhouse hooker, Samisoni Taukei’aho, who has extended his contract through to the end 2027 with New Zealand Rugby, Gallagher Chiefs and Waikato Rugby.

Taukei’aho, 25, made his debut for Waikato back in 2016, in a successful Ranfurly Shield defense against Thames Valley. Since his debut, Taukei’aho, has made 44 appearances for the province scoring a total of 100 points by the way of 20 tries. 

In 2021, Taukei’aho, was called into the All Blacks as injury cover and was a late inclusion to the reserves, as cover for Dane Coles in the second test against Fiji. He would be called into action in the second half coming off the bench to score a double on debut in front of his home crowd.

Samisoni Taukei’aho is Waikato Cap 1163 and is currently 6 games away of achieving the milestone of 50 games for the province.
